Abstract

With the abundance of the coffee harvest in the area of the ponds, coffee should be used as a natural resource which is quite a lot, but the product produced is only in the form of drinks and sells to collectors. Coffee is a plantation commodity in Indonesia which has extraordinary economic value. Meanwhile, a group of coffee farmers in Padang Tambak Village, Way Tenong District, West Lampung Regency, has a problem because they have not been able to utilize the waste of coffee beans sorted by unfavorable conditions such as holes, cracks, beans that are too young and too old. Therefore, post-harvest processing

technology is needed so that the waste of sorted coffee beans becomes more economically valuable and useful.Through the KKN 2021 program, we students of the Unila KKN will help coffee farmer partners to make processed products with coffee oil extracted from the waste of sorted robusta coffee beans. be an air freshener. The development of air freshener products with coffee ingredients is a step in helping the community in Padang Tambak Village, Way Tenong District, West Lampung Regency in dealing with the problem of unutilized coffee beans. The use of synthetic air freshener turns out to have a negative impact on health because some of the Volatile Organic Compounds released are classified as poisonous and carcinogenic compounds. The use of natural air fresheners is the right choice in avoiding dangerous risks.
