The Influence of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Type Cooperative Learning Model on Students' Geography Learning Outcomes

The main problem in geography learning at SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung is the low student learning outcomes and the lack of activeness and enthusiasm in the learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on the geography learning outcomes of grade XI students on the Distribution of Flora and Fauna in Indonesia material. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method ( quasi-experimental design ) using a one-group pretest-posttest design . The research sample consisted of 34 grade XI F7 students selected using a purposive sampling technique . The results showed an increase in the average value from 61 in the pretest to 88 in the posttest. The Paired Sample t-Test produced a Sig. (2-tailed) value <0.001, which indicated a significant difference after treatment. In addition, the average N-Gain value of 0.7364 indicated the effectiveness of the model in the high category. In conclusion, the TGT learning model is effective in improving students' geography learning outcomes.
