Apology for the Journal System Disruption

Dear Authors of the Jurnal Penelitian Geografi,

We, the Editorial Team of Jurnal Penelitian Geografi, would like to sincerely apologize to all authors for the disruption and difficulties experienced with our journal system during the period of April–July 2026.

The disruption was caused by a cyberattack on the journal’s system, which affected access to and the management of the journal platform, including editorial processes and communication that should have operated normally. This incident was beyond our control and may have caused inconvenience, concern, and delays for authors whose manuscripts were undergoing the publication process.

We fully understand that the academic publication process requires reliability, transparency, and effective communication. Therefore, we deeply regret any inconvenience caused by this incident, particularly any delays in manuscript processing, editorial communication, or follow-up regarding submissions.

We are currently undertaking system recovery, security improvements, and comprehensive restructuring of the journal platform to ensure the security of journal data and the continuity of our editorial operations. We are also reviewing affected submissions and editorial processes so that they can be followed up and restored as appropriately as possible.

We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued trust throughout this recovery process. We remain committed to strengthening the security of our journal system and improving the quality of our editorial services to minimize the possibility of similar incidents in the future.
